Bhitarkanika National Park Opened for Tourist from August 1 2019


The Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara district of Oddisha will be reopened for the tourist from August 1. The Park was closed from May 1 to July 31 for the mating and nesting season of saltwater crocodiles. 101 nest of crocodile were counted during this years nesting season.

Tourist can book the entry to the Bhitarkanika National Park by online bookng from the website www.ecotourodisha.com . Forest Departments rest houses are available in Dangamala, Agaranasi, Habalikothi, Gupti and Eakakula. 

Bhitarkanika National Park was mentioned in the Guinness World Records in 2006 with a 23-foot slatwater crocodile listed as the largest in the world. Bhitarkanika is also the second largest Mangrove forest in India.
