The Horticulture Department is planning to create an Open Air Butterfly Park in Lal Bagh Botanical Garden. The Department will plant 150 plant near the Peninsular Gneiss National Monument. The park will be Open Air and will have a walking path for the visitors. Information boards about various butterflies will be displayed in the Park. The Butterfly Park is expected to attract more visitors to Lalbagh. At present, we have a butterfly park in Bannerghatta BIological Park. 

Lal Bagh is a 250 acres garden located in South Bangalore. It hosts flower shows on Republic Day. The Garden has 1000 Species of Flora. The garden also has trees that are 1000 years old.
