Bangalore to Kerala with COVID Pass, Precautions and COIVD Checks at Muthanga Border

Interstate Travel Precautions

COVID Jagrata Pass and Preparations

We applied for the pass in the COVID Jagratha Website on June 22nd and the travel date was July 1st. We got a call from our panchayath within 3 minutes of applying for the pass. Our pass got approved on 29th June.

We planned for all safety precautions and decided not to stop anywhere for Breakfast or Lunch. We bought Ready To Cook Breakfast items like Poha, and Upma from MTR and for Lunch we bought the ready to cook lunch by Freshway. They have options like Veg Biriyani, Fried Rice, Hyderabadi Veg Biriyani and Mexican Fired Rice. We ordered these items on Amazon website and it was delivered the next day. We had 4 flasks at home and checked how long it can hold the hot water. The Normal cloth mask is not good for virus protection, so we bought the non reusable surgical mask before our journey(All Links Provided below)

1 On July 1st, We started our Journey at 5.45am. We took the Nice Road to enter the Mysore Road and at around 7.30, we stopped on the road side to have our breakfast. We finished the breakfast by 15 minutes and started our journey.

2 Before the Mysore Ring Road Entry, we were stopped by Karnataka Police and they collected our Car Details

3 We were again stopped by the Karnataka Police at the Karnataka-Kerala Border and they just asked about our travel plans. Their only question was " Are we returning back to Bangalore?" since we don't have plans to return back soon, they asked us to proceed without collecting any further details.

4 After entering the Kerala Border, we were stopped by a Police Officer. He checked our Pass Details, Number of Passengers, Vehicle Number and other details.

5 People who are coming in Taxis and are planning to change the vehicle at the border has to change it here.

6 Moving ahead, there is a facility to Fumigate the car. We have to drive the car through the Fumigation Gate created by the Kerala Police

7 Then we have to travel another 10km to reach the COVID Check Center. It is located after the Muthanga Check post where Jungle Safari happens

8 By around 11.30, we reached the COVID Check Center

9 First we have to give full details to a police officer. (Details includes Vehicle Number, Name of Passengers, Source and Destination of Travel, Mobile Number, COVID 19 Entry Pass Number etc.)

10 Then we have to wash our Hands using Hand Wash and move to the next stall by the Health Department

11 There is a sanitizer kept at the entrance of the Health Department stall

12 In this stall, we need to give the same details again to the Health Department

13 Then there are 4-5 stalls set for checking the Temperature.

14 Kids and Elder people should remain in the car and on informing, a nurse will come to the car and check the temperature.

15 They will provide a slip and a pamphlet mentioning the Quarantine Rules

16 The Last stall is by the Revenue Department and finally we can travel home without Stopping

17 We stopped on a lonely place before the Thamarasery Churam for our Lunch too.

18 By around 4.00pm we reached home.
